Julie Roland is a veteran Navy Lieutenant Commander who has deployed to the South China Sea and Persian Gulf as a helicopter pilot. In her free time, she founded an arts nonprofit, served on numerous service-related clubs and organizations, went to law school, performed over 250+ Pro Bono hours with Legal Aid Services and the Children’s Advocacy Institute, and then got a Master of Laws. She is currently the Manhattan District Director for a member of the New York State Assembly. Throughout it all, she has been doing magic: at comedy shows, birthday parties, corporate events, and on dozens of Naval vessels. Julie also gave a TEDx Talk about the importance of art in community building. She herself does mostly close up magic, especially cards.

Julie has been a magician member of the Academy of Magical Arts since 2018. Most recently, she performed magic at the Tokyo International Comedy Festival and now can be found performing all around New York City.
